999*1095 is a video opera inspired by the life and work of Adolf Wölfli, Swiss peasant, schitzophrenic, artist, writer, and composer.

Wölfli's universe: vast infinities, diamonds of 428,000,000 tons, 995-hour mountain ascents, imaginary cities with populations in the tens of billions. With a blow into his horn of omnipotence, he blasts into existence a universe 11 times the size of God's vast creation. All this vast universe crammed into one head.

Comissioned by the Wien Modern festival, and performed at the Sammlung Essl, November 2001..
